Free Chrome extension

ContextPass on every shopping site.

The browser extension highlights products that match your wallet — on Nordstrom, Allbirds, anywhere. Works on sites that haven't integrated ContextPass yet, runs entirely in your browser, and never sends your preferences to anyone.

Free forever. No account required. Open source. Works on Chrome, Brave, Edge.

Three steps. About a minute.

No account, no email signup, no credit card. Just install, set your preferences, and shop.

1

Install from the Chrome Web Store

What it does, in detail.

Four capabilities that turn any shopping site into a personalized one.

Tiered medallion badges

Bronze / Silver / Gold / Platinum medallions appear on every card that matches 2+ dimensions of your wallet — budget, color, style, size, saved items.

🔍

Hover for matched values

Hover any badge to see exactly which fields matched and what values — "budget $89 ≤ your $150 · style streetwear." No guessing.

Show only my matches

Collapse a 100-product collection to just the ones that match you, automatically reordered by tier. Toggle off to see everything again.

🌐

Deep scan all pages

One click scans every page of a category — works on server-rendered (Shopify) and JavaScript-rendered (Nordstrom) sites alike. Slide-in panel ranks every match.

Local by default. The privacy promise is the product.

The extension runs entirely in your browser. Every match is computed locally against the preferences you saved. The site you're on never sees your wallet, never sees what scored, and never gets a fingerprint of your activity. ContextPass servers never see your scan results.

No tracking

Zero analytics on what you scan, what you save, or which sites you visit. We literally don't have the data.

No account required

Install and use without signing up for anything. Optionally sync your wallet across devices via contextpass.io.

No third-party calls

The extension talks to your browser and nothing else. No OpenAI, no Google, no analytics SDK. Pure local heuristics.

Open source

Every line of code is on GitHub. Audit it yourself. Contribute. Fork it. The architecture has nothing to hide.

Questions, answered.

Is this safe to install? Will sites know I'm using it?

Yes, and no. The extension reads the products on the page you're viewing — that's the page you already chose to load. It doesn't send anything to the site, it doesn't fingerprint you, and the site has no way to detect that an extension is running. You'll see a small lime medallion badge on matching products and a privacy panel saying "No data was sent to this site" — that's the literal truth.

What sites does it work on?

Server-rendered shopping sites work out of the box — Allbirds, State and Liberty, most Shopify stores, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, Squarespace. JavaScript-rendered sites like Nordstrom and Macy's work too via "Deep scan" mode, which opens each pagination URL in a hidden tab so the page can hydrate before we read it.

Why aren't you using AI for the matching?

Deliberately. The extension's privacy promise is "no data leaves your browser." Sending product cards to an AI service would break that. The heuristic scoring is fast, free, and perfectly capable of catching budget / color / style / size matches — which is what most shopping decisions actually come down to. AI ranking is available, but only through merchant integration where the merchant has explicitly opted in and the user has approved sharing fields.

How do I uninstall?

Same as any Chrome extension: right-click the icon in your toolbar → "Remove from Chrome" — or visit chrome://extensions, find ContextPass, and click Remove. All extension data is wiped on uninstall.

Is there a Firefox / Safari / Edge version?

Edge works today (it's Chromium-based — install from the Chrome Web Store and Edge will accept it). Firefox and Safari are on the roadmap. If you want either prioritized, drop a note via email.

What's the relationship between the extension and the wallet?

The wallet at contextpass.io/wallet is the cross-device home for your preferences. The extension reads the same wallet locally, scores products against it, and never sends anything back. If you sign in to the wallet on contextpass.io, the extension automatically syncs your preferences across devices. If you don't sign in, the extension still works — it just stores preferences in your browser only.

Will this slow down my browser?

No. The extension does nothing until you click the icon and tap Scan. Until then it's idle — no background polling, no passive observation, no DOM watching. When you do scan, it processes the cards on the visible page in under 200ms.
